This area includes a valley that to a great extent determined the organisation and method of land use. The villages of Martina and Golovik are located in the upper part of the valley, while the lower and more fertile parts of the valley have been preserved for agriculture. Dry stone terraces cover almost the entire area of the valley, with several characteristic dry stone structures, large dry stone walls, terraces and stone piles. These are particularly frequent in the area of Vela Ozida, which also features a prehistoric lookout point.

Prehistoric lookout points like Vela Ozida were also used for communication between neighbouring hillforts by means of signal fires. Vela Ozida served as such a link between the former hillforts located at the sites of present-day Brseč and Mošćenice.
