3-7. View of the sea

This rest spot offers wide and open views of Rijeka Bay and the Kvarner islands. The relief characteristics of the wider area have created the interesting structure of Kvarner Bay with the two largest islands in Croatia – Krk and Cres. The view extends to the city of Rijeka, the main urban centre of the area, and Mount Velebit, one of Croatia’s most famous mountains, as it gradually rises to the south. Kvarner Bay is also a well-known fishing area, which in the past made many people from this region engage in fishing, and later seafaring. The whole region is known for its seafarers.
